The K-12 Alliance Applauds President Biden for Prioritizing K-12 Education
LANSING, MICH. — The K-12 Alliance of Michigan today released the following statement from Mark Greathead, Superintendent of Woodhaven-Brownstown Schools, located in Woodhaven, Michigan, and President of the K-12 Alliance in response to President Biden’s announcement regarding the safe reopening of schools.
“We applaud President Biden for making K-12 schools a national priority and recognizing the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on students, families and staff across the country. We welcome the renewed focus on student success, and we know the President’s leadership will pave the way for schools to begin to recover. Schools have a daunting hill to climb in the coming months and years to get students back in the classroom and begin to mitigate learning loss. We look forward to working with President Biden and with members of Congress to ensure our schools have the funding and support they need to succeed and return to a sense of normalcy.”
